I was only off by 5 weeks but I was more or less correct about the video iPod. Steve Jobs even mentioned the appeal of watching video podcasts on it. So I thought I'd try my luck for Wednesday's press conference. I kind of ripped one idea from TWiT but what the heck. Dual dual core G5 Power Macs for a starter. The idea I lifted from last week's TWiT was for an Intel-based system. Dvorak predicted an Intel Mac mini but since this is a press conference for pro tools I'll guess an Intel Powerbook. macosXrumors also believes that there will be an Apple "Photoshop Killer" announced. Not sure if that will happen but I do have another iPod prediction. I think there will be a 16:10 format video iPod announced soon. After all, even the video thumbnails on iTunes are shown in 16:10. What else can I guess at? I think Apple's stock will go up again, how about that?
Just testing out my first download of Flock. Seems pretty cool so far. Quite intuitive. Could use a Target dropdown for links, though. Also a way to enable/disable comments and trackbacks.
I've been somewhat remiss in my updates lately, but I think it's important to mention my latest article on InformIT, Linux vs. Linux: Which Distro Should You Dump Windows For? The article has received quite a bit of attention, being InformIT's most viewed article for the month of September. While that's a good thing, it's brought some criticism from some Linux users, who think I should've included their favourite distribution, accused me of not being a "real" Linux user and on and on. While I appreciate the feedback and constructive criticism, people need to realize that this article can't be all things to all people. The title is also different from what I originally gave it. That said, I did work with my editor to update the article, incorporating some of the suggestions and observations made by various readers and even Linux distro representatives. So I hope people enjoy reading it, especially after the edits :)
